Mission: To Make Maths Your Favourite Subject

Maths comes more easily to some students than others, but with the right teaching most students can not only pass, but really master the subject, and enjoy it a lot along the way.

Mathsaurus follows a rigorous curriculum, unafraid to challenge students to think and reason for themselves. At every stage the courses here are designed not just to prepare students for their next exam, but to set them up for next year’s work, for maths challenges and Olympiads, and for both the work and leisure they will pursue in the future.

Students studying here are filled with a passion for learning and an appreciation of the beauty of maths. They find enjoyment and thrill from solving the most challenging problems and appreciate and becoming fluent in the language of maths that the laws of our universe are written in.

Core Values

#1: Problem-Based Learning

You learn maths best by doing it, not just by watching videos. Mathsaurus is full of great explanations of course, but they’re always supplemented by challenging exercises which embed the ideas and make you think further.

#2: Challenge

Many teachers say they want to make maths easy - but Mathsaurus knows that challenging problems are where the most fun and growth are in maths and how you’ll develop into a great problem solver. Mathsaurus will keep you in a state of increasing knowledge and confidence, but also one of `constructive confusion', because if you're finding maths easy then you're probably not being stretched enough.

#3: Long-Term Growth

The courses here can help you with an upcoming exam, but they are always taught on the assumption that you’ll be taking maths to the next level. So you won’t find gimmicky or misleading methods that get you quick answers for one type of problem but fail on something harder. This is maths taught the right way for students who want to take it further.

#4: Free Content

Many of the courses here are totally free, or have very substantial free components that you’re welcome to use for as long as you need them. Because great maths teaching should be available to everyone.

#5: Simplicity

The maths problems you’re working on should be challenging, but the explanations and teaching are always crystal clear, and using the website, finding information about your exams and the right courses and problems to work on should be a breeze.
